Does your roof have cricket flashing? What is cricket flashing?
Cricket flashing is basically a diverter on your roof. If you look at the picture at the bottom of this post, you will see a chimney that does not have a cricket.
Notice the little tree growing out of it? If there were a diverter there, that likely wouldn’t have developed.
Most of us here in Boca Raton don’t have chimneys and fireplaces, but crickets are still very important. Flues, dormers, and other roofing features need versions of cricket flashing as well
