By some estimates the average ROI (return on investment) for a remodel is around 65%, even though this varies depending on the area in which you live. If you are doing a remodel with the sole purpose of improving the sale price of your home, that is definitely not worth it.
A better choice for investing in your home would be to do some landscaping or painting, since those offer a much better ROI, especially since some homeowners choose to do the work themselves.
