Ceramic tile floors are considered to be a good flooring option due to their hard-wearing nature. As you will find with any type of floor, though, ceramic tile will begin to show signs of wear and tear over time. What are some of those signs?

Tiling grout is one area where you might notice the most deterioration. If grout has not been properly sealed it can become discolored and start to crack and crumble. You might notice this especially in areas of the home that are most prone to moisture such as the bathroom. Removing the existing grout and redoing it is the only real way to fix this problem correctly.

Broken and cracked tiles are among the most common problems with ceramic tile flooring. It may happen due to simple wear and tear, but there are other reasons why floor tiles could crack. For example, if they have not been installed properly you can experience this issue. Extremes of temperature can also be a cause; this is because a big change in temperature will cause the house to expand or contract which can affect the ceramic tile.

Do any of the floor tiles appear uneven? This can be an issue when tiles have not been correctly installed and, in particularly bad cases, the floor may have to be redone.
