A dryer fire is nothing that anyone ever wants. To prevent a dryer fire is not too difficult though. Among the estimated 1,200 dryer fires that occur every year, cleaning of the lint screen is one of the main causes.
Most of what helps prevent a dryer fire is relatively simple to do. Here are a few suggestions:
- Clean that lint trap! Preferably after every use
- Clean the inside of the dryer barrel too (that lint trap doesn’t catch it all)
- Clean the dryer hose and vent head regularly.
