A home inspection is not a very quick process, but there are things that you as a homeowner can do to make it as quick as possible. Of course, you want the home inspection to be thorough, and it is not something that can be rushed, but by taking care to have the home in the best condition possible on the day of the inspection, there are going to be fewer delays.

For example, when your inspector is trying to access your breaker panel and he has to remove a bunch of items before he reaches the panel, time is unnecessarily wasted. The same goes for when he is inspecting your siding and there are bushes that grow all the way against the walls of your home. This is not good for your siding, and it is going to make it difficult for your inspector to get a good assessment of the state of your home.

If there are any repairs that you know needs taking care of, you should do so before your inspection, and that way having one less item that has to be documented on the report.
